This tool performed well in our tests. Our ratings for tools factor in design, features, performance, practicality and value to help determine the tool's overall score.

Things we like

Build notes using object-based note-taking

Create pages and build relationships

Fast pace of app development

Comes with a clean minimal design

Good community support & resources

Things we don't like

Like some of the PKM apps there is a learning curve to using a tool like Capacities

The Pro pricing can be much steeper than other PKM tools on the market right now

What we think about the Design of Capacities?

Capacities design is beautiful. Arguably better and more attractive than Notion. The attention to detail for PKM users is noticeable and many people will say that it is a better-crafted version of Notion for note-taking as a focus. One of the things we liked about the Capacities experience is the ability to view multiple panels at once without it becoming overwhelming.

Best second brain on the market

I’ve tried them all. Logseq, Obsidian, Bear, Evernote, Tana, Amplenote, Craft, Notion etc. Capacities ticks all the boxes for me and I have stuck with it since its early days. The UI feels familiar. It is very capable but not overly complex (Tana, here’s looking at you). The team listens to feedback and releases great updates on a regular basis.......

I tried them all, Capacities is the best

The developers have been improving this wonderful program every single month that I've used Capacities. Every month, it gets even better. The features grow, and the performance gets better. They listen and respond to users. I didn't think I'd love the AI features as much as I do. I also love to forward important emails to the program. I love......

Easy to learn! I love Capacities!

I didn't find it difficult to learn at all, and the documentation is very detailed and easy to follow, so I can use it in more advanced ways. I love that it's so adaptable. Every object can be changed into another object, and every structure in the app is flexible. The AI feature is amazing, too! I've been using Capacities for a year now, and......

The Best Note-Taking System!

Over the past two years, I've tried out more than a dozen different apps on various operating systems, and Capacities is the only one that has felt effortless from the start. There's no need to waste time trying to figure things out or design complicated structures because Capacities is incredibly intuitive, and its object-oriented approach......

Great development team, Excellent product

Object orientation allows me to craft an interface for management of personal information that fits my needs. The user interface is visually attractive and easy to navigate. The product is growing but that's the best news - the development team is keyed into and involved with the active user community. Monthly (and often more frequent updates)......
