What are espresso Displays?
This isn't what you see after 10 coffees; it's a monitor that you can use in a hyper-portable fashion.
Yes, espresso Displays are growing in the market as an option for people who work in coffee shops, at home, or travel as a handy way to get a second or third display in whilst still using their existing set-up. These displays work with any laptop with a simple usb-C connection and allow you to visualize an additional screen.
Unlike other portable monitors on the market, they are much sleeker and less bulky, allowing you to bring them on the go without the worry of taking up an extra seat in a coffee shop or even overloading your desk space. We have tested these, and they are well-designed and easy to plug and play.
Here's a little more about them:
Notable Features of espresso Displays
From our testing of these units, let's give you the quick rundown of what we liked most:
- Speed of set-up - If you're hot desking or moving a lot (maybe travel), then setting these up isn't hard as they can be used within most settings. We set it up on a moving train as we traveled for 45 minutes, and it took maybe 2-3 mins to set up.
- Discreet - Setting up a second monitor in a public place will never be discreet, but saying that, this was as discreet as you an make it. The profile of these are slim, meaning they are around the size of your laptop screen with a similar profile, perfect for setting up with little room, too.
- Touch screen optionality - Some of the units have a touch screen which makes life a lot easier for those who want to sketch or take notes. We didn't get to play with this feature as much but there's a whole software that comes along with it for everyday use.
